The Fifth Circuit ordered a rehearing en banc of the consolidated immigration cases involving Ignacio Sosnava Rodriguez, Alejandro Villegas Angel, and Miguel Angel Gomez Alvarado. The court vacated the panel opinion issued on July 2, 2026, pursuant to its own motion and a majority vote of the circuit judges in regular active service who were not disqualified. As a result, the previous decision is set aside, and the case will be reheard by the full court with oral argument at a date to be fixed; the Clerk has been directed to establish a briefing schedule for supplemental briefs.
